“When the fog Lifts”

Artists often use colors, shapes and movement to express thought and invoke feelings. I wanted this custom series for Hotel Winters to be an abstract portrayal of what moves me when I visit Northern California.

When you are in the fog it can feel gloomy and isolating but when you rise above, it is incredibly beautiful.  The rolling hills are one of the things that I love about Northern California, both visually and in their representation of the ups and downs we’ve all experienced in our lives. No matter how gray the day is, when the skies open up in a palette of turquoise, pink, orange and gold, we are able to breathe deeply and enjoy the solitude.

The fog brings in a blanket of silence and mystery and is the swept away leaving the world bright and clear again.

“Red Or White?”

In this abstract painting I have minimized the details to allow for viewer interpretation in order to allow a personal emotional response. I have given just enough prompts so that the viewer can tell their own story and interpret the image triggered by their own experiences.
